Fundamentals of the digital humanities
2007–2008
The first year of the CCH minor programme at King's College London is dedicated to the basic methods and techniques of the digital humanities: communications, including online research methods and publishing; literary and linguistic analysis of text with concording, collocation and frequency tools; numerical analysis and representation of numerical data with graphs; bibliographic management; digitisation and imaging; and the representation and manipulation of tabular data. Strong emphasis is placed on the practical implications and consequences of computing for research in the humanities as well as on basic research skills. Students are expected to think with and about computational tools.
For administrative details see the Programme Handbook.
